Satan And Demons: Referenced In Holy Scripture

pic source: Lucifer's fall (from heaven) -

Artist’s portrayal of the angel, “Lucifer” immediately following his celestial rebellion. He (now, named, “Satan”) was banned from heaven, no longer holy and no longer experiencing Lord God Almighty’s (like) holiness. Pic source: Lucifer’s fall (from heaven) –

* Satan (the devil) was a former holy angel of Creator God:

* The reason for Lucifer’s rebellion was “pride” – Isaiah 14:12-15

* Jesus makes mention of witnessing Satan fall from heaven – Luke 10:18

* Satan was cast down from heaven after his war of rebellion – Revelation 12:7-9 ; 12

* Jesus Christ references Satan as being the “ruler of this world” – John 12:31 ; John 16:11

* Christ also describes Satan as being “the father of lies.” – Gospel of John 8:44

Divine Scripture attributes Satan’s deceptive activity to the first sin, of which noxious and toxic effect, (Psalm 51:5) doomed the human race, to experience sin’s fallout until the close of this world’s history. – Romans 5:12-21

* Please also note, that when this world ends, Satan’s activity will be restricted (and both) dedicated to his eternal torment and the forever torment of the damned in hell.

Satan’s Principle Purpose

St. Paul’s inspired Scripture writing, refers to Satan as the “god of this world” who blinds the minds of those who refuse to believe in Savior, Christ – 2 Corinthians 4:4

Satan is the “prince of the power of the air,” “which now works in the children of disobedience” – Ephesians 2:2 ; 6:12 ; 1 john 5:19

John’s Gospel notes Christ saying that “the thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”John 10:10

Satan and his demons seize upon human “original sin” and the fallen world to effect their manifold malevolent machination temptation means. Together, they are the evil agents who place temptation’s traps before humans. As a person places and sets a mouse trap full of delectable cheese, Satan and his spiritually wicked minions are ever incessantly placing and setting temptation traps which are most appealing to lustful and carnal human desires. – 1 John 2:15-17

Please note:

The principal (tempting) motivations of the devil’s failed attempt to conquer Christ:

Gospel of Matthew 4:1-11

Further Note:

  • That Creator / Savior Christ came to “destroy the works of the devil:” — “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” –1 John 3:8 – NKJV

Finally Note:

The Lord Almighty’s Scriptural “advice” to resist Satanic temptation and the devil’s demonic (minion) over-riding influence – Ephesians 6:10-18

Resistance to the devil, this wicked world, one’s own pride, and selfish desires; plus, submission to Creator Christ, is key to overcoming Satan, his lies, deception and attempted damnation of one’s soul. Romans 12:1-2 ; James 4:1-10

Knowing the True—Rejecting the False

“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.” – 1 John 5:18-21 – NKJV

(Spiritually) Hear Christ’s Words:

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” – Gospel of John 15:1-6 – NKJV
