Earlier this month a 9 year old third grade boy was sent home from school with his politically incorrect “poisonous” cupcakes.

Apparently, the taxpayer funded public school principal couldn’t “handle” the small figurine toys which were placed upon the cupcakes, (intended by the small and innocent child) for decorative purposes. According to the paranoid principal, Susan Wright, the cupcakes [in her limited world-view] were “insensitive.” [Aka – “‘politically incorrect”]

The obviously offended school principal defended her insensitive and intolerant decision to remove the toy decorations and send them home with the boy. Her remarks smacked a paranoid type of (needless fearful) insecurity. Had she exhibited some basic teaching and people communication skills, this public school taxpayer funded educator / administrator could have been versatile (enough) to have turned the toy decorations into a teaching moment. She could have (morally  and legally) allowed the toy World War II figurines and asked the boy’s teacher to teach the third grade class about American patriots who helped save the world from Hitler’s Nazi Germany and the Nazi’s evil quest for world dominance. But, sadly and pathetically, that did not happen. Teaching children political correctness [by modeling it] is way too much more important that teaching them some good morals and to differentiate between right from wrong, and to appreciate their patriotic forefathers.

The public school principal’s political correctness actions toward the boy and his parents, illustrates the taxpayer funded public teaching profession’s degenerative downward slide towards absurdity and intolerance. Please read the following excerpt with accompanying pics and captions:

“School Confiscates Cupcakes Decorated with Toy Soldiers” – radio.foxnews.com/

>>>>>>>> Excerpt:

Casey Fountain told Fox News that the principal of his son’s elementary school called the cupcakes “insensitive” — in light of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

What type of future does Caro's Elementary Schall School want for precious youth? Does she want for them to emulate her fears? Does she want herself as a model of the culture's decadent and paranoid political correctness?

What type of future does Caro’s Elementary Schall School want for precious youth? Does she want for them to emulate her fears? Does she want herself as a model of the culture’s decadent and paranoid political correctness? What will 9 year old Hunter Fountain think of when he becomes older? Will he remember this sad day as his worst birthday because of some “do-gooder” who thought she was God’s political correctness gift to society and the culture?

“It disgusted me,” he said. “It’s vile they lump true American heroes with psychopathic killers.”
Fountain’s wife made a batch of 30 chocolate cupcakes for their son Hunter’s classmates at Schall Elementary School in the town of Caro. The 9-year-old helped decorate the treats with plastic figurines representing World War Two soldiers.

The following morning Fountain said his wife delivered the cupcakes to the front office. The secretary complimented her on the decorations and then took the cakes to Hunter’s class.

About 15 minutes later the school called my wife and told her the couldn’t serve the cupcakes because the soldiers had guns,” Fountain told Fox News. “My wife told them to remove the soldiers and serve the cupcakes anyway — and I believe she may have used more colorful language.”

The school complied and confiscated the soldiers — sending them home with Hunter in a bag.

“I was offended,” Fountain said. “I support our soldiers and what they stand for. These (plastic soldiers) are representations of World War Two soldiers – our greatest generation. If they aren’t allowed in our schools — who is?”

Principal Susan Wright released a statement to local media defending the decision.

Henry Knier, Jr. - Caro Community Schools Board Sec. Of 7 Board members, Knier and the Treasurer's [Bill Thayer's] pic are the only ones to appear on the Caro School's website page. There are no email addresses nor addresses given. Have these board members abrogated their responsibility toward the community's children? Will they stand idly by and not sanction Principal Wright for her intolerant personal actions of political correctness foolishness upon impressionable youth?

“These are toys that were commonplace in the past,” she wrote. “However, some parents prohibit all guns as toys. In light of that difference, the school offered to replace the soldiers with another item and the soldiers were returned home with the student.”

“Living in a democratic society entails respect for opposing opinions,” she stated. “In the climate of recent events in schools we walk a delicate balance in teaching non-violence in our buildings and trying to ensure a safe, peaceful atmosphere.”

Fountain said it was beyond outrageous to compare American soldiers to deranged mass murderers.

“In our politically correct society they can’t separate the good from the bad,” he said. ”I’m sure hammers are allowed in schools — although a lot of people are killed by hammers.”

Principal Wright explained in her statement that she meant no disrespect to the military.

“By not permitting toy soldiers on cupcakes at school, no disrespect for our military or for the brave men and women who defend our rights to have our differences was intended,” she wrote. “Our commitment is always to our children and creating a safe place for them to learn, grow and have respectful dialogues about their differences.”

Fountain said his little boy is aware of the controversy but doesn’t quite understand what all the fuss is about.

“He’s nine-years-old,” Fountain said. “He was just glad to get his soldiers back.”

“It’s not about a toy,” he said. “It’s not about a cupcake. It’s what the toy represents — and we’re just taking political correctness too far.”  >>>>>>>>>>> – radio.foxnews.com/

Note from this Moralmatters.org author regarding the above article:

For those who would wish, I think that at this time, it would be useless contacting the aforementioned school principal. Susan Wright has made her contention clear. She is entrenched in her politically correct world. This author intends posting at least another article about this school principal’s intolerant and insensitive actions which were not only forced upon a 9 year old boy, but his parents and the whole surrounding community, etc.

For those who desire to voice your sentiments and opinions, please voice (or write them) to the School Board Members. Here, is the school’s less than desirable school board web page. This author will attempt to supply those interested with a way to contact them, individually. They, are the ones to hold the local school system accountable and responsible.

For now, here is the listing of Board members:

John Forshee, President; Dean Tomlinson, Vice-President; Henry Knier, Jr., Secretary; Lisa Graf, Trustee; Bill Thayer, Treasurer; Robert Fetting, Ttustee; Paul Strasz, Trustee

  1. dougster says:

    Thomas Jefferson:

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

It doesn’t get any better than that….at least for now. Two hundreds years from today, things might be different.

    1. dougster –

Yes. Unlike the politicians of today, Jefferson knew what he was talking about. He lived through the American revolution……..

  2. This is insane! He’s a child! Not a gang member or something. Political Correctness is run amuck. I suggest the school change this absurd policy.

    1. Stephanie –

Thank you for your comment. Yes. What transpired was insane and absurd. And, I think it is a shame that taxpayers would have to pay for this type of incompetence and intolerance visited upon their youth.

I’ve looked at the school policy online. From the very beginning the school principal acted without intellectual thought. [An “educator” – can you believe that?] Her actions toward the little boy were without compassion and basically immoral and unethical. The school policy’s thesis is about, “5205 Possessing, Transporting or Transmitting Dangerous Weapons(Cf. 8300) 5205-2.” I ask the question “Who schooled Ms. Wright?” Why didn’t [and couldn’t] she distinguish between the innocent intent of the child and the cold hard text of the school policy?” [Other sensible questions could be asked about the principal’s intolerant action]

Furthermore, it appears that the principal was only interested in following a blind course (school policy) guide because she may have (drummed up in her little mind) that these toy miniature figurine soldiers were “dangerous.” Maybe the principal was having a bad hair day and thought that the toy cupcake decorations would transform themselves into bats and vampires and destroy her primped day’s appearance………

Finally, what [also] bothers me, is, (according to the news reports) this 9 year old boy was sent home with the toy figurine miniature soldiers. Unless I find out, otherwise, I assume that little Hunter was suspended from school. In that case, (more than any other reason), I would believe that the tax paying parents could bring a lawsuit against this unreasonable school district.

I ask myself: “Where are the school board members in all of this? Why do they allow all this? Why do they allow the school’s superintendent to go on local network TV to defend the school principal and offer a half-ass apology to those who may have been offended?”

Stephanie – Please check back at Moralmatters.org as I think that you have not read the last of this whole sorted political correctness affair……….

  3. dougster says:

There are a lot of adults, my stepfather was one of these, who have a twisted thought process that little children should act like adults.

As I look back on my childhood years, I realize that I did many things that no rational adult would do. As a little child, I had no concept of the real world as an adult would or should.

A child has no filter in place that would prevent them from saying and doing certain things…as an adult would.

The Principal in the article is very immature and her reaction reveals that she needs some retraining in child psychology. One wonders if she ever had any in the first place.

    1. dougster –

Excellent comment! Yes. “Immature” is a good description. I would even go as far as saying that this principal was selfish; selfish in the sense as to not lay aside her personal boot clicking political correctness views but to rather tend to the intent and interests of the 9 year old child.

I tried to submit this to the Superintendent but all I got was an error message. And no offense; you’ve got one dysfunctional comment feature yourself. (Actually it’s a joke; actually a pathetic joke. Fire the web “master.”)

Re: School Confiscates Cupcakes Decorated with Army Men

I don’t know if I’m directing this to the right person. I figure this is the office of the head of the school district and hopefully you’ll see this email is delivered to the appropriate parties.

I’ve seen some pretty stupid things come out of our schools lately but this has got to be one of the most obscene. Besides the fact that in one fell swoop you managed to spit on our armed forces right in front of a child, what if the parents happened to have been military? I’m still wondering if this is some kind of hoax which is why I’m not coming on as strong as I would like. However I’d like to share some reading material which will show I have no problem believing this story because if true I suspect that I know where those responsible obtained their “teaching credentials”.

I’d be real curious to know if you have had any discussion with the children of the fact that your state is known for being the capital of radical Islam in the US; Dearborn, MI. And that you’re famous for allowing Islam to proliferate to the obscene point of where law enforcement stands around while Christians are stoned then comes along and arrests the Christians. My facts might be a little off. Why don’t you check them for me and let me know. Below are a list of books. The contents or the problems depicted in them are a direct result of the type of mentality that confiscated toy soldiers from a child’s cupcakes, comparing our soldiers who fought and died for this country with lunatics and mass murderers. Of course that’s probably what you believe anyway. I’m wondering how many of the people highlighted in the Horowitz book below you actually look up to.

The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America by David Horowitz

Ivory Towers On Sand: The Failure of Middle Eastern Studies in America by Martin Kramer

The War Against Boys: How Misguided Feminism Is Harming Our Young Men by Christina Hoff Sommers

Taken Into Custody: The War Against Fathers, Marriage and the Family by Stephen Baskerville

    1. Larry –

Thank you for your excellent and informative comment! Thank you for visiting http://www.moralmatters.org and please continue to visit and offer more comments such as this one.

So, are you saying that you attempted to register this comment with the Caro Community Schools, but were unable to do so? And, do I hear you correctly when you mention something is amiss with this WordPress website’s comment facility? By the way, I suppose I fit the title of the “web master” here. Anything that made your effort to comment an exasperating experience – I’m all ears! I’d like to improve upon my knowledge of this website facility and make the viewers experience more comfortable.

Thank you for the list of books. Two, in particular – the ones about the culture’s “war” against boys and fathers, school systems need to note – big time! Maybe, this whole debacle with this 9 year old boy could have been averted, had this school system known more about what constitutes boyhood and why boys are drawn to toy army men and why their [girl] gender counterparts are drawn to dolls.

You point about whether the school mentions to its students about Dearborn, Michigan: I doubt that few schools do. That, would not be the politically correct and multicultural thing to do, because the perverted prevailing mindset is to attempt to give equal (positive) treatment to every group except Christians. [Multiculturalism’s damning “flaw” is to regard all value systems to be equal]

Please note this website’s individual pages (listed on the home page) about “political correctness” and “Multiculturalism.” These two principles pummeled into students during their academic schooling lives help liberals and every aberrant group in America, to destroy traditional, patriotic and Constitutional America. That’s one of the major reasons that there are so many “low-information” voters out there and why they have gravitated to unworthy politicians such as our present White House occupier. They can no longer distinguish some right from wrong, since their view of politics castigates good morality. Do you note the trend? No talk of the Hebrew and Christian God in schools today is allowed; but, it is perfectly okay to talk and teach about all the false gods of history and the present cultural gods. It’s okay to teach evolution as if it was and is reality.

Finally, Larry, I will attempt to make sure the school (through its school board members) receives your good comment. I would hope that they are open to instruction, being that they are board members of an instructional institutional facility (school system).
