Can’t Fix Stupid – Free Will Decisions Have Consequences

Two Missouri girls playing ‘Ghost Train’ game die when train hits Jeep …..”They were obsessed with it,” he said. “The girls were apparently infatuated with sitting on the tracks and scaring yourself. The girls had gone out many times to do it.”…..

……Wednesday, a 14-year-old boy was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in Kirkwood as he walked along the tracks. Cameron Vennard, of Oakland, was listening to music on his headphones and apparently didn’t hear the train’s approach. – stltoday.com/

Moralmatters.org comment:

The first divine gift given to mankind was that of free moral agency (free will). We live in a very real world where actions have consequences, such as willfully walking on a tiled floor covered with banannas.

What is “Free Will?”

Free will (free moral agency) – Every person has the God given freedom to choose between good and evil. This freedom is commonly known as “free will,” or, “free moral agency.”

A person can either be restrained to do evil, having been alerted by an active conscience. Or, a person of his own free will can resist the restraints of his conscience and do evil. [N.T. Romans 2:14-15] Note, that this is not to suggest that a person can in any way contribute (affect and effect) the “saving” of his sinful soul. The deliverance (salvation) of a sinful soul for forgiveness of sins and eternal life, rather than eternal damnation, (hell, in the hereafter), is a special gift conferred upon an individual by the grace of God. [N.T. Ephesians 2:1-10] It is the grace and mercy of Almighty God, through the merits of Jesus Christ and the working of the Triune God’s Holy Spirit, which makes this all a reality.  [Christian New Testament – John 1:11;12;13 ; 1 Corinthians 12:3 ; Phil 2:13]

You’ve made some really good points there. I looked on the net for additional information about the issue and found most people will go along with your views on this website.

    1. Joie –

Thank you for visiting http://www.moralmatters.org and for your comment! I’m not sure that I’d agree with you that “most people will go along with your views on this website.” [Your words] I say that because I base my morals and ethics upon Biblical principles. People are often hard pressed when those principles fly in the face of their perceived selfish interests of pocketbook, union affiliations, etc.
