While eating breakfast this morning, I thought of what Abraham Lincoln said of his dear mother. And, of course, my mind has (again) been thinking of my own dear mother, who sacrificed all for me and my siblings. So true are the lyrics of that one familiar hymn:
“…..Who from our mother’s arms hath blessed us on our way; with countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.” [From TLH – “Now Thank We All Our God” – CPH – c. 1941]
The Scripture tells us that “God is love,” – and, that certainly, is so true, in the person of Christ and His Spirit drawing us to saving faith. But, how often do we cease with our own thoughts and ponder how the good Lord has loved us, by granting to us, Christian mothers who have loved us in countless ways?
